Storefront Improvement Program

Whether protecting a structure’s historic significance, integrating modern technology into an antiquated facility or meticulously restoring a building’s fragile façade, Congress Heights Community Training and Development Corporation (CHCTDC) understands the careful planning, coordination, and special attention to detail that is required to bringing buildings back to their original grandeur.

 

We are proud to work with Destination Congress Heights Main Street businesses and to receive a grant award from the DC Department of Housing and Community Develop to support businesses with small facade improvement projects. Funding is now available from CHCTDC for projects such as:

  • Storefront Design
  • Predevelopment and Construction
  • Signage
  • Awnings
  • Lighting
  • Color Selection & Exterior Painting
  • Windows and Doors
  • Window Displays
  • ADA Accessibility
  • Physical Security Elements – including cameras
  • Gate boxes & Security Gates
  • Rooftop Solar and LED Lighting - for security of community, customers and employees
  • Energy Audits
  • Vendor and CBE selection

If you are in one of CHCTDC eligible Small Business corridors, you can apply today. There is no deadline for the Facade Improvement Program application, but funds are limited and applications are approved on a rolling basis. download the application here and submit to our team at info@chctdc.org.
